This program starts in June and is designed to produce operators trained on earth-moving equipment such as dozers, scrapers, wheel loaders, backhoes, excavators, graders, and skid steers. Training takes place on the 125-acre operation site and
prepares graduates to work in county, state, or interstate highway construction, levee construction, agricultural construction, airport development, and commercial and residential construction. Students not only finish the program with more than 1,350 hours of instruction and a commercial driver’s license, but each student will be listed on the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) national registry, which is utilized by employers nationwide.

Additional Application Requirements:
Submit the completed High School Attendance Record from signed by your high school counselor. Transfer students and students who earned GEDs rather than high school diplomas do not need to submit the high school attendance record form.
Driving record, which qualifies you for a Missouri Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL). A DUI/DWI within the past year without rehabilitation and/or three (3) speeding tickets within the past two years will disqualify the applicant. The Driving Record may be obtained from your local License Bureau or from the Department of Revenue. If you have a CDL, submit both a Driving Record and a copy of your license. The Driving Record should be submitted after January.
20th as close to the application deadline as possible to ensure it is the most current record available.
Submit two (2) letters of recommendation from individuals not related to the applicant, but who are familiar with the applicant's attitude, dependability, honesty, etc.
Successful completion of the Department of Transportation physical. It must be signed by a physician and submitted to the Office of Admissions.
Include on your application any related experience you have to the Heavy Equipment Operations field. This may include work experience or extra-curricular activities such as FFA, SkillsUSA, Boy Scouts/Eagle Scout, construction work, etc.

Students selected for the program will be required to: 1.) Submit an updated Driving Record at enrollment. 2.) Verify that they can perform essential physical functions of the Heavy Equipment Operations program. 3.) Successfully pass pre-enrollment and random drug screens. These drug screens are required to enter and remain enrolled in the program. Refusing or failing any of the drug screens will result in dismissal from the program.
For consideration in the Heavy Equipment Operations program, all of these items must be received by the Office of Admissions by February 1.
