The field of heavy equipment technology is advancing rapidly. Computers play an important role in global positioning satellite technology and diagnosing heavy
equipment worldwide. The HET program prepares individuals to maintain, troubleshoot, and overhaul the major components of earth-moving equipment. Graduates of this program can expect to find employment with construction companies, heavy equipment sales and service organizations, equipment dealers, state highway maintenance departments, and mining companies. Graduates will have opportunities to move into sales, management, or shop supervision.

Additional Application Requirements:
Submit the completed High School Attendance Record from signed by your high school counselor. Transfer students and students who earned GEDs rather than high school diplomas do not need to submit the high school attendance record form.
Include on your application any related experience you have to the Heavy Equipment Technology field. This may include work experience or extra-curricular activities such as FFA, SkillsUSA, Boy Scouts/Eagle Scout, etc.
Take a mechanical comprehension test. Contact the Office of Admissions to schedule your testing appointment. Students must successfully complete either ACT or COMPASS testing prior to taking the mechanical test.

For priority consideration in the Heavy Equipment Technology program, all of the items listed below must be received by the Office of Admissions by February 15. Candidates may submit applications after February 15, but those applications will not be given preference.
