Are you looking for a career that is both challenging and rewarding? Using critical thinking skills, you will not only explore basic diesel technology, but also understand
its application in the operation and maintenance of diesel-powered vehicles. A skilled technician in the medium/heavy truck field can expect to earn high wages. The MHT program is designed to prepare skilled technicians to service medium and heavy-duty trucks and similar diesel equipment. Graduates of the program can expect to find employment in the service department of trucking companies, independent garages, automobile dealerships,
and construction companies. Experienced technicians who have leadership ability may advance to shop supervisors or service managers. Technicians who have sales ability may become sales representatives. Others may choose to open their own repair shops.

Additional Application Requirements:
Submit the completed High School Attendance Record from signed by your high school counselor. Transfer students and students who earned GEDs rather than high school diplomas do not need to submit the high school attendance record form.
Include on your application any related experience you have to the Medium/Heavy Truck Technology field. This may include work experience or extra-curricular activities such as FFA, SkillsUSA, Boy Scouts/Eagle Scout, etc.
Take a mechanical comprehension test. Contact the Office of Admissions to schedule your testing appointment. Students must successfully complete either ACT or COMPASS testing prior to taking the mechanical test.

For priority consideration in the Medium/Heavy Truck Technology program, all of the items listed below must be received by the Office of Admissions by February 15. Candidates may submit applications after February 15, but those applications will not be given preference.
